Lainey Shaw started her acting training at Harrogate College,North
Yorkshire
where she discovered her talent for accents first playing Lily Smalls
in Under Milk Wood,
then going on to play Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.
After winning The BBC's new talent competition at the West Yorkshire
Playhouse
she moved to London & continued her training, first at Birkbeck
University then
onto The Academy Drama School, Whitechapel, where she combined a
full time job with
a 2 year fulltime evening & weekend acting training.

It was while she was at drama school she was spotted by Michael
Friend, who offered
her roles in his Production Companys rep season at The Theatre Royal,
Margate
playing 'Mrs Bradman' in Coward's Blithe Spirit and 'Grace Page'
in Ayckbourn's Game Plan.
